Thank you to Ruth and all her family - including her daughter GB Fed Cup Team player Jocelyn - for organising this competition at East Bridgford on Sunday. The aim of the Quorn Cup is for younger players to put the skills they have learned at coaching into practice on court, and to experience a competitive situation with the support of an older family member to help them through the highs and lows!
7 pairs entered (child age 10 or under playing with an adult family member)
Matches were played on a mini-tennis court which is quarter of a regular sized court, with a softer red ball. The 7 pairs were split into 2 pools who each played a round-robin format, with winner and runner-up in each pool going through to the semi-finals:
Jack and David Powell
Jack and Tim Mitchell
Oscar and Graham Pennick
Toby and Kevin Hughes
The final was won by
Jack and David Powell who won a day at the Nottingham Open in June.
Jack and Tim Mitchell were runners up.
Well done to all who played.
